Magnus - House 8
Magnus came to us along with his older sister Quéli and his younger twin brothers Roni and Robi. He came to us in June of 1997 and is well adjusted. The story on these children is a sad one. They were forcefully taken away from the father who is totally negligent and close to dying from alcoholism. We know very little about their past but what we have seen is a tendency towards aggresive behavior. The boys at times would fight so badly with Quéli that blood was drawn.
Since they have been with Nair and Enaldir, they have settled down quite a bit and starting to learn what proper behavior is. Continue to pray for Magnus as he is the second oldest child and the oldest boy and needs to be a good example to his younger brothers.
Magnus is 13 years old and in the 7th grade. He is interested in guitar and is taking beginner lessons at our technical center. He is generally a pleasant boy and he plays well with the other kids. Pray that God would reveal Himself to Magnus in a special way.
Update: Magnus loves eating pizza with his family. Our pizza parlors serve all you can eat and each waiter serves a different kind. There are 47 flavors to chose from. Most people try one of each. This is followed by the desert pizzas. The first courses are salty and people have a habit of topping them with ketchup and mayonnaise. In one instance Magnus put these condiments on his desert pizza by mistake. The others howled at this.
January 2007 Update: Magnus is 15 and in the first level of High School (there are three levels). Magnus has made his decision for Christ and is baptized. He enjoys the Sunday School and the adolescent group. At COL he took the guitar, computer and welding course. He also plays soccer in a local team. His dream though, is to become a basketball player. He is a good boy, responsible and playful. He is obedient and has a real “dry” sense of humor. He is very smart and wants to develop his electronic skills as he is a “Mr.fix-it” as far as machines and plugs go.
Main Prayer Request: Pray that Magnus would continue to grow and take advantage of all the opportunities that the Homes offer.
2008 Update: Magnus is sixteen years old and is in grade nine at school. He does not yet have a future goal. His house parents find him to be a good helper and his household chore is to clean his bedroom. He likes to play soccer and ride his bicycle in his spare time. He is active at church and in the youth group, working the power point system for church meetings. He loves the Lord and is growing well in his faith. He has already accepted Christ and been baptized. Please pray that God will help Magnus to be a good example to those around him.
2009 Update: Magnus earned a good grade in Biology on his last report card. Please pray that he would finish school well and be able to achieve his goal of either opening up a bakery or going to college to pursue a career in engineering. He asks us to pray also for his biological family and his Chain of Love family.
