Alex - House 3
Alex was born February 28, 2006. Currently he is 4 years old which makes him the youngest child at Chain of Love.
Alex came rather unexpectedly from a beach city in our state. His name had come up from social services seeing that we have another 4 brothers and sister (Solaina, Everton, Alexsandro, Jorge) already at COL.
At first Alex was going up for adoption because of his young age, but his brothers and sister pleaded for him to join them at COL. The process was under way when we received a phone call on a holiday that he had arrived at the campus. No one was expecting this just yet, so it was quite a surprise.
Alex comes from a back ground of neglect. We can tell that he has bounced around a lot, and was not really taken care of very well. His one front tooth is totally rotten. He does not ask to go to the bathroom. For the first few days, his pants needed changing constantly. He plays nicely but when upset tends to bite the other children on the ear!
Upon arriving, his eyes were checked and of course glasses were prescribed. Now the hard part begins – to keep them on his face!!
Alex is adjusting well. He is in our third home with house parents José and Alzira. Being the youngest he is dear to all and at the center of attention. He has made friends with the other younger ones and is already enjoying going to church and Sunday School.
