Luciano Nereu - House 7
Luciano Nereu was born June 16, 1996. His is a sad case of abandonment and as a result he has been in and out of half way houses over the years. His mother and father are separated and his step father has rejected him. His mother is an alcoholic and is not organized enough to raise the boy. The step father also beats Luciano’s mother.
Luciano basically is a street boy since he lived on the streets to avoid being beaten by his step father. Because of this he did not attend school and fell behind in his education.
He had other aunts and uncles that tried to put him up but they gave up on him since his time on the streets caused him to disobey rules and authority figures as well as to not watch his personal hygiene. This has been corrected now in the long series of stays in half way houses. Over time he has learned limits and has learned to control his frustrations. He is now described as a boy that is intelligent, creative as well as disposed to participate in group activities. The effects of a dysfunctional family can be clearly seen from his previous behavior.
The courts have ruled that Luciano needs a permanent family with a mother and father figure. Luciano has been placed with our seventh family, where the house parents are Marco and Fabiane. Luciano is now doing well in school but he is only in Grade 3.
2009 Update: Luciano Nereu is part of a hip hop group responsible for songs for the youth at church. Please pray for his progress at school, especially in Math. He finds staying within limits and obeying the rules a challenge. His goal is to be a professional soccer player, and he currently has a girlfriend. Please pray with him for wise choices that will affect his future.
